Ahmet Çeli̇k, PhD candidate and instructor in religion and Middle Eastern studies at Syracuse University, has been appointed as the first campus imam and Muslim student adviser at ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ.

Barry R. Baron, associate university chaplain and campus rabbi, will serve as university chaplain, beginning his three-year term on July 1. He will succeed Protestant Campus Minister Corey MacPherson, who has served as university chaplain since 2017.

ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ, in collaboration with Community Memorial Hospital, began administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines on campus today, in a first test of the University’s state-approved point of dispensing at the Hall of Presidents. 

Two of ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ’s Residential Commons will be led by new codirectors, who will begin their three-year appointments beginning this fall 2021 semester.
